As we prepare to commemorate the 30th time of the Genocide against the Tutsi, the IGICUMBI Association – Voice of the Survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi – has written an open letter, available here in Kinyarwanda, French, and English, to President Paul Kagame.

In this letter, they request him to stop and prevent the killings and other abuses committed against survivors of this tragedy.

These acts often occur shortly before or during the commemorative period and have persisted without interruption over the last 30 years, to the point of becoming an accepted cultural norm.
