23 January 2014 – IBUKA, the umbrella body for survivors’ organisations in Rwanda welcomes the Dutch decision today to arrest and extradite to Rwanda Jean Baptiste Mugimba, a genocide fugitive accused of involvement in the genocide committed against Tutsi. He was allegedly responsible for the preparation and execution of mass killings of Tutsis in sector Nyakabanda of Nyarugenge District in the capital Kigali.The decision to arrest and extradite Mugimba to Rwanda where the crimes were committed, will enable several ordinary victims across the country to directly exercise their right to adequate justice including the right to seek remedy and participation in the trial’’ said Prof. Jean Pierre Dusingizemungu, the President of IBUKA read full Press release here
